Financial Reporting and Insight

Your numbers tell a story. I make sure you can read it.

Why Reporting Matters

Clean books are the starting point. But a Profit & Loss statement sitting in your inbox does not help you if you do not know what to do with it.

Most small business owners look at two numbers: how much came in and how much went out. That is not financial reporting. That is checking your bank balance with extra steps. Real financial reporting means understanding your margins, tracking your cash flow, spotting trends before they become problems, and having the information you need to make decisions about hiring, pricing, spending, and growth.

That is what this service is about. Not just producing reports, but making sure you understand them and can use them.

What Is Included

Monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet

Every month you receive a clean, accurate P&L and Balance Sheet. But more importantly, you receive context. I do not just send you a PDF. I review the numbers, annotate what matters, and highlight anything that needs your attention. If your materials costs jumped 15% this month, you will know about it and we will talk about why.

Cash flow analysis and tracking

Revenue on your P&L does not mean cash in your bank account. Cash flow analysis tracks the actual movement of money in and out of your business: when you collect from customers, when you pay vendors, when large expenses hit, and whether you have enough runway to cover upcoming obligations. This is especially important for businesses with seasonal revenue, long collection cycles, or significant upfront costs.

Personalized financial dashboard

I build a dashboard tailored to your specific business. Not a generic template, but a view of the metrics that matter to you. For a contractor, that might be job profitability and backlog. For a retailer, it might be gross margin by product category. For a service business, it might be revenue per client and utilization. The dashboard gives you a quick, visual snapshot of your financial health without having to dig through reports.

Monthly check-in call

Once a month, we get on a call and I walk you through your numbers. This is not a five-minute courtesy call. It is a substantive review of how your business performed, what changed, what is trending, and what decisions you might want to think about. You ask questions, I give you honest answers. This call is where the real value happens, because it turns your reports from documents into conversations.

Who This Is For

This service is for business owners who want to understand their numbers, not just have someone keep them. If you find yourself guessing about whether you can afford a new hire, wondering why your revenue went up but your bank balance did not, or dreading tax season because you have no idea what your numbers look like, this is what you need.

Financial reporting and insight is included as part of every monthly bookkeeping engagement. It is not an add-on. I believe that handing someone a report without helping them understand it is only doing half the job.
