I'm Bay Area born and raised, and I've called Sonoma County home for 17 years. I'm a mom to three boys, a junior in high school and 7th grade twins, and I have a deep respect for people who build something of their own. Small businesses are the heart and soul of this community, and the people behind them carry more than most people realize.

I love bookkeeping for small business owners because it rewards both sides of who I am: the logical problem-solver who genuinely enjoys untangling a messy set of books, and the person who understands what it actually means to sit across from someone running a business on passion, vision, and not enough sleep.

Most small business owners I work with aren't bad at business. They're just too close to it. They feel their finances. They have a gut sense of whether things are okay. But they don't really know. And that gap between feeling and knowing? That's where the stress lives. That's the flying blind feeling that compounds quietly until it doesn't.

A good accounting professional isn't a box checker. They're an engaged partner who keeps you out of that place. Someone who knows your numbers well enough to spot something before it becomes a problem, and cares enough to tell you.

What I Bring to the Table

I hold a BA in Communication with a Management Communication emphasis from Saint Mary's College of California, and I've completed the full accounting curriculum at Santa Rosa Junior College. My academic background gives me both the financial fundamentals and the ability to translate complex information into plain language, which is honestly half of what good bookkeeping is.

I carry five active Intuit certifications:

I spent years doing hands-on bookkeeping as an accounting analyst at a CPA firm, working directly in the books for businesses across a wide range of industries: wineries, restaurants, retail, architecture firms, catering companies, construction, and tech startups. That experience gave me exposure to real financial complexity, not textbook scenarios, and taught me to think like a problem-solver, not just a data entry person.

Before bookkeeping, I spent over a decade in operations management, including a full digital transformation of a legacy business from paper-based systems to modern financial infrastructure. I know what it looks like when a business runs on gut feel and sticky notes, and I know what changes when you build real systems underneath it.

Today I run BalanceWise Books out of Petaluma, serving small businesses across Sonoma County and remotely. My background working under a CPA means I know exactly where bookkeeping ends and CPA-level work begins, and I'll always be straight with you about which one you need. I'm a bookkeeper who actually reads your books and tells you what they say.
